Deputy Managing Director of the European Union’s Asia and Pacific Department, Paola Pampaloni, called on Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah in Islamabad and discussed matters of mutual interest, including promotion of bilateral relations between the European Union and Pakistan.

During the meeting, issues of human rights, enforced disappearances, illegal immigration, human trafficking and criminal law reforms were discussed in detail.

The meeting also discussed action against the elements involved in human trafficking and smuggling.

Paola Pampaloni said Pakistan is an important partner of the EU and the constructive dialogue with Pakistan will continue in future.
