Pakistani Sports Expert and Philanthropist SHAHID UL HAQ won the international SPORTS FOR PEACE award 2022, At New Delhi India.
The 6th Dr. B R Ambedkar International Awards is organized by Dr. B R Ambedkar Foundation India, on October 11, 2022, at New Delhi, India. Shahid Ul haq was nominated for his contribution by developing projects “PEACE COURT” and PRO WRESTLING revival of international sports after the cricket team attack in 2009. He is nominated by International Olympic Academy Participants Association (IOAPA) and finally recommended by the selection committee which was comprised of eminent educationists and administrators. Committee deliberated for long hours in several meetings and discussions regarding screening and scrutinizing all nominees.
Shahid Ulhaq is selected because of his contribution to excellence and the highest standards of ethical conduct, integrity, and social responsibility. He stands out as a leader who exemplifies behaviors in societal contribution through outstanding credentials in the field of Sports and Peace.
Shahid Ulhaq expresses his emotion virtually, this award is dedicated to the Pakistani Nation for developing peace for the world through sacrificing thousands of civilian and military lives during the war on terror. He also thanked the International Olympic Academy Participants association and Dr. B R Ambedkar Foundation for this great honor. He added Sports are the most vital tool for the development of the community and for achieving United Nations Sustainable Developmental Goals.
The B.R. Ambedkar National Award is organized under the aegis of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Sports Foundation (An Organization in Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council Since 2021) which is the first of its kind organization in the world for the promotion of peace through the Olympism and Social Justice which is recognized by United Nations for its work in the area concerned. To celebrate the moment and acknowledge the commitment towards Social Justice and Olympism,
the Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Award Ceremony is scheduled at 2:00-5:00 pm (Indian Standard Time) on 11.10.2022 at Deshmukh Auditorium, Indian International Centre, Lodhi Estate, New Delhi. The program will be conducted in Hybrid Mode (Online and Offline). There may be a footfall of 350 people from different areas. The award ceremony attended by Hon’ble Cabinet Ministers, Members of Legislative Assemblies, Members of Parliament, diplomats, bureaucrats, social workers, national awardees, corporates, journalists, etc.
PROJECT PEACE COURT:
A PEACE COURT is a project designed by SHAHID ULHAQ in 2009 after the Pakistan Cricket Team attack, at Abu Dhabi, UAE Generations For Peace Camp. A court that may be built on zero line on both dividend countries Pakistan and India at Lahore, Wagha Border. The main aim of the project is to develop peace, love, and friendship through sport without borders. Both sides have relatives across the border but have not been able to meet for many years due to escalations and wars. This project will provide an opportunity to enjoy sports in the arena and meet and greet lost relatives, it also provides a better understand and harmony for the next generation with out any visa or border. It will also be an economic hub for both sides. The project “PEACE COURT” has already been displayed for many days on the UN website in 2009.
PROJECT “REVIVAL OF INTERNATIONAL SPORT THROUGH PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING”
PRO Wrestling Entertainment consists of 20 International pro Wrestlers and five International ring officials from 25 countries all around the world. They all stand together and show their solidarity with Pakistani peaceful nation. It was a message from three big cities Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad to the world that Pakistan is a peaceful country and giving tribute to Pakistan Army martyred and more than 80000 life sacrifices of Pakistani nation for building peace for better world.
