At the UN Security Council, Pakistan has reaffirmed support for Iraq’s stability, democratic progress and humanitarian efforts.
Delivering a national statement during the UN Security Council briefing on the United Nations Assistance Mission in Iraq (UNAMI), Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad reiterated firm support for Iraq’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity. He emphasized it is imperative that Iraq is not drawn into regional confrontations.
