
Pakistan and Japan have signed a landmark Grant Agreement worth 2.63 million dollars to bolster the Human Resource Development (HRD) Scholarship Program 2025.
Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Affairs Dr. Kazim Niaz, and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Pakistan Akamatsu Shuichi signed the Record of Discussions Exchange of Notes at a ceremony held in Islamabad today.
Japan, through JICA, has extended this generous grant to Pakistan, marking the 8th installment of the project since its inception in 2018. This year, the grant will provide sixteen scholarships for Master’s programs and one for a PhD program at prestigious universities in Japan for young Federal Civil Service and Ex-Cadre officers of Pakistan.
In his remarks, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Pakistan Akamatsu Shuichi, and JICA Chief Representative Naoaki Miyata, assured of their commitment to work closely with the Government of Pakistan to further strengthen the friendly ties and bilateral cooperation.
