Minister for Housing and Works Riaz Hussain Pirzada has emphasized on the importance of prioritizing the integration of renewable energy with climate resilient strategies.

Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad today, he said Pakistan has immense unexploited potential in renewable energy including solar, wind, hydro, geo-thermal and bio energy.

He said Pakistan receives some of the highest solar isolation in the world with a potential of over 2.9 million MW. The Minister said Pakistan’s coastal regions particularly in Sindh and Balochistan hold an estimated wind energy potential approximately fifty thousand MW.
