Faisalabad’s Anti-Terrorism Court has sentenced over 100 PTI leaders and workers in two separate May 9 violence cases, including top leaders Omar Ayub, Shibli Faraz, Zartaj Gul, and Hamid Raza, who each received 10-year jail terms.

In case 832, 108 out of 185 were convicted for attacking a sensitive agency’s office, while 77 were acquitted. In case 1277, 60 out of 66 were sentenced, and six acquitted. Fawad Chaudhry, Zain Qureshi, and Khayal Castro were among those cleared of charges.

In a related case of setting a police van on fire, 28 out of 32 accused were also sentenced to 10 years. These decisions come as anti-terrorism courts approach the Supreme Court’s deadline to conclude all May 9 cases.
