
Jamaat-i-Islami has announced to call off its sit-in in front of Lahore Press Club and cancel the scheduled march to Islamabad.
The announcement was made by senior leaders of Jamaat-i-Islami Maulana Hidayat ur Rehman and Liaquat Baloch while addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Friday, alongside Adviser to Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry.
Speaking on the occasion, Rana Sanaullah said an agreement has been reached with Jamaat-i-Islami leadership under which it is being submitted to the Prime Minister that a committee be constituted to identify problems of Balochistan and present proposals for their solution.
He said the proposed committee will have representation of government and opposition parties of Balochistan, members of Jamaat-i-Islami delegation and federal government and institutions involved in maintaining law and order in Balochistan.
Rana Sanaullah reiterated the government’s categorical stance that development of Balochistan is development of Pakistan and peace is inevitable for this.
He said we all have renewed the pledge today to join hands to devise practical measures for peace in Balochistan.
