The Islamabad Olympic Association (IOA) convened a pivotal Executive Committee meeting at the prestigious Islamabad Club on Saturday, August 2, 2025. The meeting was chaired by the President of the Association, Begum Ishrat Ashraf, and attended by key members of the Executive Committee, including Secretary General Mr. Rizwan ul Haq Razi.

During the session, the committee deliberated on several critical matters central to the strategic development and organizational strengthening of the IOA and its affiliated units. Among the primary topics discussed was the regularization and realization of affiliated sports bodies under the IOA umbrella, a move aimed at enhancing coordination and transparency across all disciplines.

A major point of focus was the registration of the Islamabad Olympic Association with the Islamabad Sports Board, an essential step to formalize its status as the principal sports governing body in the federal capital and to facilitate institutional support for its upcoming programs.

The meeting also underscored the significance of Islamabad’s active participation in the 1st National Youth Games and the forthcoming National Games. Committee members exchanged insights and strategies to ensure that Islamabad fields highly competitive teams and achieves optimum performance outcomes. Plans were reviewed to streamline athlete selection, training, and logistical arrangements.

President Begum Ishrat Ashraf praised the commitment of the Executive Committee and emphasized the importance of unified efforts to elevate Islamabad’s standing on the national sports stage. She reiterated the IOA’s resolve to provide all necessary support to athletes and officials in the build-up to these landmark events.
