Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal says Uraan Pakistan Programme is a comprehensive plan for development of the country.
Speaking at a ceremony in Narowal on Sunday, he said development process in all sectors of economy is imperative for growth and prosperity.
The planning minister said agricultural sector enjoys a vital importance as it is backbone of Pakistan’s economy.
He said veterinary department has also a important place in development of livestock sector and to increase production of milk and meat.
The Minister said veterinary officials have been provided motorbikes to enable them to reach farmers for guidance and help.
Ahsan Iqbal said that there is a need to promote value addition in agriculture and livestock sectors. s
He said that the Livestock Department and University of Veterinary Sciences should play more active roles in boosting the livestock sector.
