Eight volunteer workers have died and three others injured due to a landslide during work to restore the water channel of Danuor Nullah in Gilgit.
The injured have been shifted to the hospital and emergency has been imposed in Gilgit’s hospitals.
President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed deep grief and sorrow over Gilgit landslide tragedy.
In a statement, he extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased volunteers.
He paid tribute to the volunteers who rendered their lives for the sake of humanity.
The President also prayed for the swift recovery of the injured volunteers.
