All Parties Hurriyat Conference has paid glowing tributes to Hurriyat leader Sheikh Abdul Aziz on his 17th martyrdom anniversary on Monday. 

APHC Vice Chairman Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar, in a statement, described him as an icon and great hero of the Kashmiri people who laid down his life for the sacred cause of freedom.

He reaffirmed that Kashmiris would carry forward the mission of Sheikh Abdul Aziz and other martyrs.

The Jammu and Kashmir National Front spokesman Muhammad Haseeb Wani, in a statement, hailed Shaheed Sheikh Abdul Aziz who dedicated his entire life to the Kashmir cause.

Sheikh Abdul Aziz was martyred by Indian troops on August 11, 2008, while leading a march from Srinagar to the Line of Control against the economic blockade of the Kashmir Valley by Hindu extremists.
