The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s welcome of Australia’s announcement regarding its intention to recognize the State of Palestine and New Zealand’s announcement on its consideration to recognize the State of Palestine. The Kingdom commends the international consensus supporting the path toward implementing the two-state solution and establishing an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Kingdom affirms that the current stage requires peace-loving countries to recognize the State of Palestine and support efforts to end the protracted war, particularly in light of the ongoing Israeli violations of international law and international humanitarian law.
