Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called upon Pakistanis living home and abroad to extend their utmost support to their fellow countrymen in the relief and rehabilitation efforts in the aftermath of floods.

In his message on International Charity Day, he said the flood affected population has suffered severe losses to their livestock, livelihoods and homes.

He said the people in flood affected areas are in urgent need of food supplies, shelter and healthcare services. He said the federal and provincial governments, armed forces, and the public are all working together to continue rescue and relief operations.

Shehbaz Sharif said the social fabric of Pakistan stands as a testament to the fact that Pakistanis take great pride in helping others selflessly, without discrimination of race, ethnicity or background. This sincere spirit of service to others is a cherished part of Pakistan’s social values and cultural heritage.

Shehbaz Sharif mentioned that our volunteers have always played a commendable role in extending both practical and financial support during times of crisis including natural disasters, accidents, war or other emergencies.
