Pakistan secured a comprehensive 75-run victory over Afghanistan in the final of the Tri-Nation T20 series in Sharjah, thanks to a sensational bowling performance by all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz.
After winning the toss, Pakistan opted to bat first and posted a modest total of 141 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs. Fakhar Zaman top-scored with 27, while Mohammad Nawaz contributed 25 runs and Agha Salman added 24. For Afghanistan, Rashid Khan starred with the ball, claiming 3 wickets, while Noor Ahmad and Fazalhaq Farooqi took 2 wickets each.
In response, Afghanistan’s batting line-up crumbled under the pressure of Mohammad Nawaz’s devastating spell. The Afghan side was bundled out for just 66 runs in 15.5 overs.
Nawaz produced a match-winning performance, taking a brilliant five-wicket haul for just 19 runs in his four overs, including a stunning hat-trick — a rare feat in T20 internationals. His exceptional bowling earned him the Player of the Match award and played a pivotal role in Pakistan lifting the tri-series trophy.
