Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has expressed the firm commitment to promote trade and investment relations with Pakistan.

Addressing Pakistan-Malaysia Business and Investment Conference in Kuala Lumpur on Monday, he said they will facilitate and support the enterprises to achieve the objective.

He mentioned the excellent relations that exist between the two fraternal countries.

In his remarks, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the areas where the Malaysian companies can invest including value addition in agriculture, exploration of natural resources and tourism, emphasizing that this will be a win-win situation.

The Prime Minister encouraged the Malaysian and Pakistani businessmen to pursue joint ventures, B to B partnership and technology collaborations. He said by establishing operations in Pakistan, companies gain a strategic gateway to vast regional and global markets. He was confident that through joint efforts, the two countries will unlock new horizons in trade, investment and industrial collaboration.

Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan’s macro-economic indicators are very encouraging. Inflation is down to single digit and policy rate is now eleven percent.
