Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, on behalf of the Senate, has paid a glowing tribute to Allama Iqbal.
In a statement in the House, he said today the nation celebrates this enduring vision of Allama Iqbal that laid a very foundation of a separate, independent and sovereign homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent in the form of Pakistan.
The Chairman said the poet of the East inspired the hearts and minds of Muslims from the subcontinent to the banks of the Nile and from Nile to Kashgar.
He stressed the need for making concerted efforts to inspire a generation that embodies Allama Iqbal’s teachings, fostering a spirit of unity and cooperation within the nation.
