Seventh annual, Women International Film Festival will be held on Saturday at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts.

During the two-day event, films all made by women from Pakistan and around the world will be showcased.

The event is supported by the Embassy of France in Pakistan and the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Islamabad.

The films to be screened during the two-day festival include, ‘Awaaz’ by Halimah Tariq from Pakistan follows the story of Shakila Farooq, the first woman in Mardan to take a stand for educating hearing and speech impaired girls.

Other films to be showcased include Women of my family from Germany, ‘The great Méliès’ from Italy, ‘Three wishes, One truth’ from Argentina, Betty’s burning from Belgium, Silk’s balance from France and many others.
