The National Assembly was informed today the government is taking steps to revive the game of hockey.
Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination Ehsan Ur Rehman Mazari told the House during Question Hour that these efforts include facilitating the players and providing them with better environment.
He said our policy also involves giving special grants to the sports federation performing better.
The Minister said hockey is our national game and recalled that our hockey team also won several international tournaments in the past.
He said attention is also being paid to uplift other sports as well.
