The Organization of Islamic Cooperation has opened its office in Kabul for coordinating humanitarian efforts in the country.                  

In a statement, the Organization said the office will coordinate humanitarian activities with international agencies, and no effort will be spared to address the ongoing situation of the Afghan people.

As per the statement, the office will oversee pledges made by foreign ministers of the organization at an extraordinary summit in Islamabad in December last year to address the situation in Afghanistan.                                                        

An exclusive bank account namely Afghanistan’s Humanitarian Trust Fund was established at the summit.
