Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb says the future of Pakistan is associated with democracy, expressing the hope that the system will continue.

Addressing a ceremony of Pakistan flag painting at D-chowk in Islamabad today (Saturday), she said the democratic governments have played a significant role in making defence of the country impregnable.

The Information Minister said former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto started the nuclear program and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif brought it to the final stage.

She said fireworks and laser show will be held at D-Chowk tomorrow at midnight to celebrate Diamond Jubilee of the country.  

The Information Minister appreciated Radio Pakistan, PTV and private media for arranging special transmissions and shows on the occasion of Diamond Jubilee celebrations of the country. 

Children from different schools participated in the ceremony to paint the national flag. On the occasion, contingents of police from all provinces and FC presented march past.
