In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, families and relatives of Kashmiri political prisoners have complained that Indian authorities are intentionally prolonging their detention by not producing them before courts on due dates, on one pretext or another.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the relatives and family members through a campaign launched on whatsapp, twitter and other social media platforms for the release of their dear ones said that many of the detainees including APHC Chairman Masarrat Aalam Butt are not being released despite being granted bail in all the cases.

They urged international human rights organizations to impress upon India to release the detainees immediately as majority of them are already facing health problems due to jail conditions.

Meanwhile, the APHC-AJK chapter leaders in a joint statement issued in Islamabad urged the international community to take immediate cognizance of the rapidly deteriorating human rights situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

On the other hand, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference spokesman in a statement in Srinagar said the worst Indian state terrorism in occupied territory for the last over seven decades has failed to suppress the Kashmiris’ freedom sentiment and they are determined to carry on their struggle till they achieve their inalienable right to self-determination.

The spokesman urged the international community to shun its silence over the Indian brutalities and play an effective role in resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations for ensuring permanent peace in the region.

People staged a protest demonstration in Baramulla district, today, against the anti-people policies of the authorities.

In another incident, family members of a 21-year-old deceased youth, Keshav Kumar, assembled on the main highway in Billawar area of  Kathua district and demanded investigation into the mysterious death of the youth.
