The United States and Saudi Arabia have called on warring military factions in Sudan to extend cease-fire which is set to expire on Monday.
In a joint statement, the US and Saudi Arabia urged Sudan’s military government and the rival Rapid Support Forces to continue negotiations on extending the cease-fire.
The statement said, Sudanese people are in dire need of urgent humanitarian assistance.
According to media reports, there are spontaneous clashes in the capital Khartoum and Omdurman.
Human rights monitors have also reported about fighting in El Fashir, in the western region of Darfur.
