COMSTECH launches specialized program to help Somalia in S&T, higher education

COMSTECH has launched Somalia Science and Technology Cooperation Program jointly with the Embassy of Somalia to promote science and technology education in that country.

The program was launched at a ceremony in Islamabad today.

Speaking on the occasion, Coordinator General COMSTECH, Prof Dr Iqbal Chaudhary emphasized the need for country specific programs to address the specific needs of each OIC member state.                       

Charge de Affairs of Somalia Shirwa Abdullahi Ibrahim appreciated the initiative taken by COMSTECH to address the science and technology needs of his country and hoped that the program will promote further mutual collaboration.                                                                          

COMSTECH in close coordination with the OIC General Secretariat, Jeddah, has launched several initiatives and programs for the capacity building of OIC states, particularly the African countries in OIC.
