Caretaker Punjab Minister for Specialized Health Care Dr Javed Akram says so far sixty-eight patients have been affected due to Avastin injection in the province.

Addressing the joint press conference along with caretaker Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare Dr Jamal Nasir in Lahore today, he said that a committee has been formed to probe the matter and microbiologists are also part of the committee.

The Minister said services of the forensic laboratory will also be taken to probe the injection scandal.

On this occasion, caretaker Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare Dr Jamal Nasir lauded the role of media for highlighting the Avastin injection scandal.

He said meetings of the Provincial Service Quality Board are being held on regular basis and indiscriminate action is being taken against eleven drug inspectors.
