South Africa thrashed Zimbabwe by a commanding 328-run margin in the first Test of the two-match series, taking a 1-0 lead after a dominant all-round performance.

Chasing a massive target of 537 runs, Zimbabwe was bowled out for just 208 in their second innings. Wellington Masakadza top-scored with 57, while Craig Ervine added 49 runs in a losing effort.

South Africa’s bowlers were clinical, with Carban Bosch claiming 5 wickets and Kodi Yusuf taking 3 to dismantle the Zimbabwean batting lineup.

Earlier in the match, South Africa posted 418 in their first innings and followed it up with 369 in the second. Zimbabwe had scored 251 in their first innings.

The second and final Test of the series begins on Sunday, where Zimbabwe will look to bounce back and level the series.
