Iga Swiatek Clinches Wimbledon Title with Historic Win Over Amanda Anisimova

Poland’s Iga Swiatek claimed her maiden Wimbledon title in dominant fashion, defeating the United States’ Amanda Anisimova in the final with a stunning 6-0, 6-0 scoreline.

This emphatic victory marks a historic moment in Wimbledon’s history, as it is the first time since 1911 that a women’s singles final has ended with such a one-sided score. In that year, during the amateur era, British player Lambert defeated fellow countrywoman Dora Boothby 6-0, 6-0.

Since the beginning of the Open Era in 1968, no player had suffered a 0-6, 0-6 loss in a Wimbledon women’s singles final until now.

Swiatek’s performance not only secures her a place in Wimbledon history but also reaffirms her dominance on the WTA tour.
