
Pakistan’s snooker talent stole the spotlight at the ongoing IBSF World Masters, U17, U21 & Men 6-Red Snooker Championships 2025, being held from July 13 to 24 in Manama, Bahrain. The Pakistani cueists delivered commanding performances across multiple categories, securing dominant victories over their international rivals.
In the U17 final, rising star Hasnain Akhtar outclassed Riley Powell of Wales with a clean 4-0 whitewash. Hasnain showed remarkable control and consistency, with breaks of 44 and 67 helping him seal frames comfortably. The final scoreline read: 86(44)-7, 73-35, 50-31, 98(67)-4.
Meanwhile, the Masters category witnessed a nail-biting encounter between seasoned professionals Muhammad Asif of Pakistan and Brijesh Damani of India. Asif triumphed in a tense 4-3 decider, showing nerves of steel in the final two frames. The scores: 98(87)-37, 75-55, 0-80(51), 40-52, 41-64, 91-29, 78(40)-9.
In the U21 division, former world amateur champion Ahsan Ramzan eased past Mahmood Ahmed of Bahrain in a one-sided 3-0 victory. Ramzan’s clinical play, including breaks of 31 and 57, left the local favorite with few chances: 59-2, 82(31)-6, 74(57)-6.
