Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Mohsin Naqvi, has announced that the Pakistan Super League Season 11 will begin as scheduled on March 26, but matches will be held without spectators.
Speaking at a press conference in Lahore, Mohsin Naqvi said that consultations regarding the league’s arrangements had been ongoing, and it was decided to proceed according to the original schedule.
He said the PSL is an international brand that includes foreign players, making it difficult to postpone the event, especially as no alternative window is available.
He further stated that matches will be held only in Karachi and Lahore. A revised schedule will be issued to ensure minimal travel for teams.
The PCB chairman also confirmed that the opening ceremony has been cancelled to reduce costs. He added that the Pakistan Cricket Board will compensate franchises for the loss of gate revenue.
Due to the current situation, matches will be played behind closed doors. Fans will be able to claim refunds for their tickets, and the PCB has apologized for the inconvenience caused.
