Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif today inaugurated ‘Rahmat Card Programme’ to financially support widows and orphan children.
Speaking on the occasion, she directed the authorities to ensure transparency, fairness, and merit in the utilization of Zakat funds under the initiative.
Earlier, Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab Rashid Iqbal Nasrullah, while briefing the participants, said a record amount of five thousand million rupees has been allocated from the provincial Zakat Fund for the programme.
He said fifty thousand widows and orphan children will receive one hundred thousand rupees each under the initiative.
He further informed that applications can be submitted through a dedicated mobile application or the official web portal while for further information, the public can also contact the helpline at 1077.
