Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has emphasised the need to utilize all resources for capacity building of the law enforcement agencies to ensure protection of people’s lives and property.

He was chairing a meeting on law and order situation in the country and matters pertaining to the Ministry of Interior in Islamabad today.

The Prime Minister also directed to adopt strict implementation of a zero-tolerance policy against corruption within the law enforcement agencies.

He ordered authorities concerned to ensure all recruitments under the Ministry of Interior, including the Federal Investigation Agency, are made on merit.

Shehbaz Sharif said personnel of the law enforcement agencies should be equipped with modern training and expertise to face contemporary security challenges. He further instructed to provide the state-of-the-art equipment, modern technology, and professional resources.

The meeting was informed that under-construction prison in Islamabad will become functional in September this year.

It was also briefed on the performance of FIA, Islamabad Police, National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency, Federal Constabulary, Capital Development Authority, and other agencies under the Interior Ministry.

The meeting was also updated on the future development projects.
