Prominent political and social figure Malik Ashraf Burhan and President of Union of Journalists (Dastoor), G. Hasnain, said that cameramen play the role of the backbone in print and electronic media. They stated that cameramen risk their lives while covering accidents and natural disasters and ensure that accurate news reaches readers and viewers in a proper manner.
They expressed these views while addressing a luncheon hosted by Dr. Nadeem Shakir Nizami in honor of the Cameramen Association. The speakers said that the services of late Shakir Nizami would always be remembered and that his poetry and writings serve as a lesson for humanity.
Speaking on the occasion, G. Hasnain said that the Union of Journalists (Dastoor) stands firmly with all journalists without discrimination for the protection of their rights. He further stated that cameramen are an essential part of journalism and that no report can be considered complete without them.
Among others who addressed the gathering were Imran Yousaf Goaindi, Cameramen Association Group Leader Sheikh Abid Nafees, President Faizan Khan Sunni Bawa, Chairman Muhammad Kashif, General Secretary Rashid Rana, Finance Secretary Zaheer Babar, Tahir Masood Rana, Shakir Ali Chishti, and other members.
The ceremony was hosted by Syed Tahir Shah Bukhari. Qari Sikandar Hayat Naqshbandi had the honor of reciting the Holy Quran, while Wajid Abbas Qadri presented a bouquet of Naats in praise of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
At the end of the event, Dr. Nadeem Shakir Nizami thanked all the guests for their participation.
