Commissioner Sargodha Division, Hafiz Shaukat Ali, visited District Jail Sargodha to review security measures, Muharram arrangements, and inmate welfare facilities. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Prisons Saeedullah Gondal and Superintendent Jail Khan Waheed Khan were also present during the visit.

The Commissioner inspected the arrangements for Muharram-ul-Haram gatherings and mourning ceremonies, assessed security measures, and reviewed the facilities being provided to inmates. He also met with inmates participating in the religious observances and inquired about their well-being.

While addressing religious speakers and event organizers, Hafiz Shaukat Ali said that the life and teachings of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) serve as a profound lesson in patience, perseverance, adherence to the law, and steadfastness in upholding truth and justice. He emphasized the importance of promoting self-reformation, positive thinking, and rejection of criminal behavior among inmates to help them become responsible and productive members of society.

During the visit, the Commissioner also inspected the Women’s Skill Development Center, Psychological Counseling Services, renovated prison barracks, the Video Call and Family Meeting Center, and the ration store. He expressed satisfaction with the facilities available and stated that prisons should not be viewed merely as places of punishment but as institutions for rehabilitation, character building, and social reintegration. He stressed the need to continue efforts aimed at the reform and successful rehabilitation of inmates.
