Through Pakistan’s facilitation, twenty-two Iranian crew members of the vessel Lenore/Davina, who were recently interdicted by US authorities, safely arrived in Karachi this afternoon.
Announcing this in a post on X, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said arrangements are now being finalized in collaboration with Iranian missions in Pakistan to facilitate earliest and safe return to their homeland.
He said Pakistan remained in close contact with the US and Iranian authorities throughout this process.
Ishaq Dar said this is the fourth group of Iranian crew members in the last two months whose repatriation has been facilitated by Pakistan.
He said until now, Pakistan has assisted in the repatriation of over seventy Iranian brethren through its territory. He said he is grateful to the Iranian leadership for reposing trust in Pakistan.
Ishaq Dar commended the dedicated efforts of the team at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and all the Pakistani institutions for their professionalism and commitment to ensuring the smooth and safe repatriation of the Iranian brothers to their homeland.
