Assistant Commissioner Noorpur Thal, Shazia Rahman, carried out a surprise inspection of public transport vehicles to ensure compliance with government-approved fare regulations and to provide relief to passengers.
During the inspection, she thoroughly checked vehicle routes, route permits, and official fare lists to verify that transport operators were charging passengers according to the prescribed fares.
Assistant Commissioner Shazia Rahman strictly instructed drivers and transport operators not to overcharge passengers under any circumstances. She emphasized that the exploitation of the public would not be tolerated and directed all transporters to comply fully with the officially notified fare schedule.
She warned that strict legal action would be taken against any driver or transport operator found charging fares above the government-approved rates.
Citizens appreciated the Assistant Commissioner’s proactive initiative, expressing hope that such regular inspections would help eliminate overcharging, improve the public transport system, and ensure greater convenience and relief for passengers.
