Deputy Commissioner Khushab, Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Laber, chaired a meeting of the District Development Review Committee at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, where a comprehensive review was conducted of the ongoing mega development projects across the district, schemes being executed under the Annual Development Programme (ADP), and proposed development projects for the fiscal year 2026–27.
The meeting reviewed the progress of several major projects, including the beautification of Kalma Chowk and Tehsil Chowk, the construction and rehabilitation of Rawalpindi Road, Grot Road, Ayub Bhah Stadium, Chak No. Muzaffargarh Road, Mianwali Road, Rawalpindi Road Chowk Grot, Roda Thal, and other key roads. Progress on the installation of new sewerage lines in Khushab and Jauharabad, as well as development schemes related to sports, education, and other public sectors, was also assessed. The committee also discussed matters relating to the approval of new development schemes proposed for the 2026–27 fiscal year.
Deputy Director Development Sohail Sikandar Ranjha, along with officials from the Public Health Engineering Department and the Buildings Department, briefed the Deputy Commissioner on the progress of ongoing development projects, utilization of allocated funds, and the status of their completion.
Addressing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Laber directed all relevant departmental heads to ensure that only high-quality construction materials are used in development projects being carried out under the Punjab Development Programme launched by the Chief Minister of Punjab. He emphasized that the use of substandard materials or poor-quality construction would not be tolerated under any circumstances and that there would be no compromise on quality.
He further instructed all departments to complete development projects within the stipulated timelines so that the public could benefit from them without delay. The Deputy Commissioner stated that providing quality basic facilities to the people, ensuring the transparent and timely completion of development projects, and promoting the overall development of District Khushab remain the top priorities of the district administration.
