A dignified flag-hoisting ceremony was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Khushab, to mark the 79th Independence Day of Pakistan with national spirit and enthusiasm.
On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Khushab Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Laber, District Police Officer Dr. Ammara Shirazi, MNA Malik Shakir Bashir Awan, MPA Malik Muhammad Asif Bhá, MPA Sardar Zafar Khan Baloch, and former Senator Dr. Ghaus Muhammad Khan Niazi jointly hoisted the national flag.
Additional Deputy Commissioner General Ghazala Kanwal, In-charge Para Force Amanullah Gondal, officers and personnel of Punjab Police, Civil Defence and Rescue 1122, officials of various government departments, and a large number of citizens attended the ceremony.
Special prayers were offered for the progress, prosperity and development of Pakistan, as well as for the martyrs of the armed forces. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Laber congratulated the entire nation on Independence Day.
MNA Malik Shakir Bashir Awan said that the success of the mutual defence cooperation agreement with Makkah was a success for the entire nation. MPA Malik Muhammad Asif Bhá said that, on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Independence Day was being celebrated with great enthusiasm and in a unique manner.
MPA Sardar Zafar Khan Baloch said that the success of the mutual defence cooperation agreement with Makkah had doubled the joy and celebrations of August 14.
Following the flag-hoisting ceremony, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Laber, DPO Dr. Ammara Shirazi, MNA Malik Shakir Bashir Awan, MPA Malik Muhammad Asif Bhá Awan, MPA Sardar Zafar Khan Baloch and former Senator Dr. Ghaus Muhammad Khan Niazi also planted saplings as part of the national tree plantation campaign.
