President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and widespread devastation caused by a powerful earthquake off Flores Island in eastern Indonesia.
In separate messages, both the President and Prime Minister extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and expressed solidarity with the Government and people of Indonesia during the difficult time.
President Asif Ali Zardari, in a post on social media platform X, offered condolences on behalf of the people of Pakistan and prayed for the swift recovery of those injured in the earthquake. He also said Pakistan stood ready to extend all possible assistance.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also conveyed his condolences to Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, the people of Indonesia and the families who lost loved ones. He prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured and said his thoughts and prayers were with all those affected.
The Prime Minister said Pakistan stood shoulder to shoulder with the brotherly people of Indonesia and wished strength and resilience to everyone facing the difficult situation.
