Female students of Government Graduate College for Women, Farooq Colony, along with their teacher, Associate Professor Shazia Zafar, made a special appearance on Radio Pakistan Sargodha’s popular programme “Shaheen Sargodha.” During the programme, the students spoke about their academic subjects and areas of interest. They were also briefed in detail about Radio Pakistan’s broadcasting system, programming and the working procedures of its various departments.

At the beginning of the programme, Associate Professor Shazia Zafar introduced Government Graduate College for Women, Farooq Colony, Sargodha, and highlighted the institution’s educational history, activities and role in the academic and practical development of its students. She said that the college was established in 1982 and was granted graduate college status in 1998. The institution provides quality education to female students while also offering opportunities for moral development and participation in co-curricular activities.

She said that practical observation, alongside classroom education, was extremely important for personality development and building confidence among young people. Educational visits to different institutions enable students to understand their subjects and potential future career fields through practical exposure.

The participating students included Tehreem Nasir, Salma, Fatima Zahra, Rabia Mazhar, Malaika Shehzadi, Madiha Nasir and Sameera Ahmed. The students spoke about their respective academic subjects and interests and described their visit to Radio Pakistan Sargodha as a valuable and informative experience. They said that visiting the radio studio gave them an opportunity to observe and understand the practical broadcasting process, which also helped boost their confidence.

During the visit, the students were given a detailed briefing about the various departments of Radio Pakistan Sargodha and how they work together. They were introduced to the responsibilities of the Programmes, News, Engineering, Accounts and Administration departments. They were also informed about the different stages involved in preparing and broadcasting a programme, the role of the Duty Officer and the responsibilities of staff working in various departments.

The students were told that programming, production, technical and administrative departments work together as an integrated team to deliver programmes to listeners. The visit therefore proved to be a practical educational experience, enabling the students to understand the overall broadcasting and administrative system of Radio Pakistan.

The students expressed their gratitude to Radio Pakistan Sargodha and said that such interaction between educational institutions and media organizations opens new avenues of learning for young people. They observed that such programmes not only enhance academic knowledge but also provide students with an opportunity to understand different fields of practical life.

Radio Pakistan Sargodha also announced the launch of a special educational study-visit programme for students of government and private educational institutions. Under the initiative, students from colleges and schools will be provided with organized educational visits to Radio Pakistan Sargodha, where they will be introduced to the practical broadcasting system and the functions of its various departments.

Students who complete the study visit will also be awarded certificates. The initiative aims to familiarize the younger generation with broadcasting, programming, news, engineering, administration and other fields related to the media through practical exposure.

The initiative provides government and private educational institutions with a valuable opportunity to give their students practical learning experiences beyond the classroom. Radio Pakistan Sargodha is playing an important role in the academic and practical development of young people through such initiatives.
