The first meeting of the Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA) was held at the Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Khushab Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Labar. Additional Deputy Commissioner Headquarters Ghazala Kanwal, Additional Deputy Commissioner Municipal Services Zaryab Sajid, Assistant Commissioner Khushab Ummat-ul-Salam, SP Punjab Police Saeedullah Khan Rokhri, IO PERA Force, DEO Industries Muhammad Abdullah, Deputy Director Agriculture Extension Abdul Majid Khan, and other officers of relevant departments attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Labar reviewed in detail the PERA rules and laws, current progress, action against encroachments, fines imposed, amounts collected, enforcement measures, and other administrative matters.
The IO of the Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority briefed the Deputy Commissioner on FIRs registered under the PERA Act, fines imposed, action taken against encroachments, current performance, PERA rules and laws, legal procedures, and other related issues.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Labar directed PERA Force officers to adopt a courteous and appropriate attitude towards traders’ associations, shopkeepers, and other businesspeople in the markets and to treat them with the same respect as customers.
He further directed that legal action against encroachers and those involved in profiteering must be taken in accordance with the policies, laws, and ordinances of the Government of Punjab. He stressed that the Chief Minister of Punjab’s directives regarding encroachments and strict compliance with official price lists must be ensured in letter and spirit.
