A tree plantation campaign was organized at Government Associate College for Women, Khushab, in connection with World Forest Day. The campaign featured a range of activities, including an essay writing competition, painting and poster-making contests, a seminar, an awareness walk, and the plantation of various types of trees and plants.
Deputy Director Colleges, Mr. Imtiaz Saboohi, attended the special ceremony held in connection with World Forest Day as the chief guest. He formally inaugurated the plantation campaign by planting a sapling on the college premises and, under his supervision, 700 trees and plants were planted across the extensive college grounds. Posters and banners prepared by the students were also displayed, while the female students participated enthusiastically in the activities.
Addressing the students, Chief Guest Imtiaz Saboohi highlighted the importance of tree plantation and the vital role of trees in protecting the environment. He said that trees not only enhance the beauty of the surroundings but also play a significant role in providing clean air, maintaining a healthy climate, and promoting a healthier society. He urged the students to consider tree plantation and the protection of trees a collective responsibility.
According to the college administration, the primary objective of the campaign was not only to make the college environment greener and more pleasant but also to raise awareness among the students about environmental protection, tree plantation, and the conservation of natural resources.
