In line with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s Open Door Policy, Deputy Commissioner Khushab Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Labar heard the grievances of citizens at the DC Office and issued necessary directions to the relevant departments for their immediate resolution.
Member of the National Assembly Malik Shakir Bashir Awan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Khurram Hameed, Assistant Director Punjab Development Programme Qasim Lali, media persons Qaiser Iqbal Bhatti and Rana Fayyaz, and several applicants were also present on the occasion.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Jahanzeb Hussain Labar said that the doors of the DC Office are always open to everyone and that citizens should feel free to present their problems. He said that resolving public grievances on a priority basis is the foremost responsibility of the district administration, adding that prompt action is being ensured on applications submitted by citizens.
He directed the Assistant Commissioner Khushab and officers of the relevant departments to ensure that no obstacle is allowed to hinder the resolution of public issues. He said that the grievances of citizens visiting the DC Office are heard on a daily basis and directed the concerned officers to submit reports on the progress and implementation of the applications received from complainants.
The Deputy Commissioner further stated that resolving public grievances is the administration’s top priority, while negligence, sluggishness and dereliction of duty in government departments would not be tolerated. He directed all departments to perform their duties with a strong sense of responsibility and dedication as a public service.
On the occasion, MNA Malik Shakir Bashir Awan also held a detailed discussion with the Deputy Commissioner regarding ongoing development schemes and the overall development of the city.
