Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif vehemently highlighted Pakistan’s perspective on global issues at the United Nations.
He was giving media briefing on the hectic diplomatic engagements of the Pakistani delegation, led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, during 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The Deputy Prime Minister said the Prime Minister effectively highlighted Pakistan’s stance on Kashmir, Palestine, US-Iran conflict, Pak-India relations, situation in the Middle East, and Pakistan’s efforts for peace.
Ishaq Dar said it was first time that address of the Prime Minister of Pakistan received ovation and applause from the audiences in the UN General Assembly.
He said Pakistan played an effective role in promoting multilateralism and peaceful settlement of disputes globally.
The Deputy Prime Minister strongly condemned the attacks by the Houthi militia on Saudi Arabia, particularly those targeting civilian infrastructure in the holy cities.
Ishaq Dar categorically stated that attacks on Saudi Arabia and the Haramain Sharifain by Houthi militia are absolutely unacceptable.
