Sri Lanka Test captain Kusal Mendis has expressed confidence in his team’s batting lineup, insisting that the players are well-equipped to handle challenging conditions on green wickets.
Mendis acknowledged that the opposition might prepare slightly different pitches but stressed that Sri Lankan batters must focus on their skills and preparation to meet the challenge.
“We have a very good batting lineup, with experienced players such as Dinesh Chandimal, Dimuth Karunaratne and myself, along with several other talented players. Everyone knows how to play on green wickets,” Mendis said.
He also pointed to Sri Lanka’s performances in England as evidence of the team’s ability to adapt to seam-friendly conditions.
“We played really well in England, and I have no doubt about the ability of our batting lineup,” he added.
Mendis’ comments underline Sri Lanka’s confidence ahead of the challenge of batting on green-top surfaces, with the captain backing his experienced players to deliver when it matters most.
