Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister for Transport and Mass Transit Punjab Bilal Akbar Khan have decided to constitute a joint coordination committee for the improvement of Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus Service.

A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting between both the ministers in Islamabad today.

Reforms in the transport sector and matters related to the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus Service also came under discussion during the meeting.

The meeting included a detailed discussion on further improving the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus Service, making it more efficient, and upgrading the condition of its stations.

Various proposals were also discussed regarding making the service more active and effective. The expansion of the metro bus route was also considered.

Speaking on the occasion, the Interior Minister said thousands of passengers travel daily using the Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus Service.

Both sides also discussed the importance of electric transport for public convenience and reducing smog.

Mohsin Naqvi stated that, for the first time in history, electric buses have been launched for the citizens of Islamabad, and their coverage is being gradually expanded.
