Pakistan, Canada agree to expand bilateral cooperation

Minister for Commerce, Jam Kamal Khan, held a telephonic conversation with his Canadian counterpart Maninder Sidhu, to review and advance bilateral trade and investment cooperation.

Both Ministers reaffirmed their shared commitment to expanding partnerships for mutual economic benefit.

The Canadian side appreciated Pakistan’s decision to facilitate the resumption of Canadian canola shipments, describing this step as an important signal towards strengthening agricultural trade flows.

Both Ministers agreed on the importance of trade diversification and discussed expanding cooperation beyond traditional sectors.

Canadian Minister was informed on Pakistan’s emerging focus on the minerals and mining sector as a new priority area for investment and industrial development, and invited Canadian companies to explore opportunities in this sector.
