
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has invited parliamentary leaders and party heads to attend an in-camera briefing being arranged tomorrow on the evolving situation in the region.
This was stated by Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar while speaking on the floor of the National Assembly today.
He said this shows the government’s seriousness about the latest developments taking place in the region. He said it is a need of the hour to set aside political differences and sit together to evolve a common strategy to move forward in view of the prevailing circumstances.
The House started discussion on the evolving situation in the region, especially the martyrdom of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Taking part in the discussion, lawmakers condemned the attack on Iran and paid rich tribute to the supreme sacrifices of the Iranian leadership.
They expressed solidarity with the people of Iran. They called for forging unity among the Muslim countries to face the challenges confronting the Ummah.
Those who spoke on the occasion include Aniqa Mehdi, Abdul Qadir Patel, Hameed Hussain, Aasia Ishaque Siddiqui, Sehar Kamran, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Syeda Shehla Raza, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, Sanaullah Khan Mastikhel, Mir Ghulam Ali Talpur, Nisar Ahmad, and Shandana Gulzar.
The House passed “The Virtual Assets Bill, 2026.”
The bill is aimed at establishing a regulatory authority for the licensing, regulation, and supervision of virtual assets and virtual asset service providers.
The bill was moved by Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry.
Earlier, Khushhal Khan Kakar took oath as a member of the National Assembly.
Speaker Sardar Ayaz Saidq administered the oath.
The House has been adjourned to meet again tomorrow at 2 p.m.
