A meeting was held at Pakistan Muslim League House in connection with International Women’s Day under the auspices of the Muslim League Women’s Wing . The meeting was presided over by Riffat Sajid, General Secretary of the Muslim League Lahore.
Addressing the meeting, Riffat Sajid said that women stand shoulder to shoulder with men for the progress and development of the nation and are playing an active role in every field of life. She stated that the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) played a vital role in highlighting the dignity and rights of women.
She further said that Islam clearly defined the rights of women as mothers, sisters, wives, and daughters and emphasized their respect and honor. Islam granted women the right to inherit from their fathers and also gave them full rights over their husbands’ wealth. She also quoted the saying of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) that a person who fulfills the rights of his daughter from birth until her marriage will be rewarded with Paradise by Allah Almighty.
She added that women are playing a significant role in the construction and development of the country and are actively contributing alongside men to the progress and prosperity of the nation.
