A crime meeting was held under the chairmanship of Regional Police Officer (RPO) Muhammad Shahzad Asif Khan. District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Sohaib Ashraf attended the meeting along with the SP Investigation and the SDPOs of City, Sadar, Sahiwal, and Sillanwali.
During the meeting, various proposals were discussed regarding the timely completion of under-investigation cases and measures for effective crime prevention. On this occasion, SP Safe City Amir Mushtaq briefed the participants about the performance of the Safe City project and stated that crime in the city area has decreased by 69 percent.
RPO Muhammad Shahzad Asif Khan directed that all under-investigation cases should be decided on merit and concluded promptly. He also emphasized the need for effective measures to prevent crime. He stated that ensuring strict punishment for drug dealers plays a vital role in curbing this menace.
He further said that the conviction rate has increased during the current year; however, there is still a need for further improvement so that society can be made free from the menace of drugs.
