A dignified ceremony was organized under the auspices of the International Human Rights Movement on the occasion of Labour Day, where detailed discussions were held on workers’ rights, their issues, and the current economic situation.

Addressing the ceremony, labour union leaders Rana Muhammad Hanif and Rana Muhammad Afzal stated that workers are the backbone of every society’s progress; however, in the current era of rising inflation, the labour class is facing severe financial hardships. They demanded a significant increase in workers’ wages so that they may live a dignified life.

On this occasion, Divisional President of the International Human Rights Movement Sargodha Rana Ali Akbar, Chaudhry Zafar Gondal, Chairman Dr. Zahid Naqash, General Secretary Rana Ali Afzal, Malik Zaheer Abbas Advocate, Malik Altaf Hussain Advocate, Suleman Bhatti Advocate, Rana Muhammad Salman Advocate, Tariq Minhas, Mian Naveed, Rana Qasim Ali, Rana Aslam Shaheen, Chaudhry Ramzan, Malik Iqbal, Irfan Gul, Aamir Sohtra, Dr. Farmaan Anjum, Dr. Ijaz, Arshad Bhatti, Malik Hafeez Awan, Mian Owais Jalal, Manzoor Waraich, Muhammad Zaman, Saqib Baloch, Rana Taimoor Ikram, Malik Azmat, along with members of civil society and other notable personalities, participated in the event.

Rana Ali Akbar said that in line with the vision of World Chairman Rana Basharat Ali Khan, efforts for the welfare of workers will continue. He emphasized that the labour class plays a vital role in strengthening the national economy; therefore, it is essential to fully protect their rights and ensure fair wages and facilities in proportion to inflation.

At the end of the ceremony, a solidarity rally was taken out in support of the working class, and their services were paid rich tribute.
