The district administration Rawalpindi has established eight cattle markets at designated locations across the district to facilitate sale and purchase of sacrificial animals in an organized manner on the eve of Eid-ul-Adha.
According to Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi, the sites where the cattle markets have been established are Bhatta Chowk, Mouza Ranyal Chakri Road, Police Station Rawat, Gulyana Road Gujjar Khan, Sharif Hospital Bus Stop Wah Cantt, Timber Market Road Taxila, Bypass Chowk Kallar Syedan and Tangi Road Kahuta.
Meanwhile, the district administration Islamabad has also set up official cattle markets at six designated localities. The cattle markets will be established near Zia Masjid, I-12 Sector, Barakahu, Lehtrar Road near Sultana Foundation, Japan Road and Sangjani.
Authorities said these markets will provide facilities for both traders arriving from distant areas and citizens visiting the cattle markets to buy animals. They further said that establishment of markets and sale and purchase of sacrificial animals in the streets, roads and other places is strictly banned.
